Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Fathers' Day Cookies

Man, dads always seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to cookie decorating and gifting. While Mothers' Day cookies started posting here in March and April, and were even spotted as late as last week, just a few of you have started sharing cookies you've made to celebrate Fathers' Day. I'm not sure why this phenomenon persists year after year, but I aim to put an end to it, right here and now, and once and for all, with today's Spotlight

That being said, may this week's hot list* serve as sweet impetus to get cracking on your Fathers' Day designs. About half of the honorees are recently published cookies, while the other half comes from deep in our archives, back to 2015 and even 2014 and 2013! But, no matter their age, all are timeless tributes to dads, and, taken together, offer up myriad techniques, designs, and themes to brighten your fathers' big day! Enjoy - and just tell your dads to thank me for this nudge when they get their cookies from you in a few weeks!

Congrats to this week's featured cookiers, and may everyone who honors Memorial Day have a wonderful long weekend.

* As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

Congratulations to @Lorena Rodríguez for the Spotlight cover and to all the amazing featured artists in this list. @Julia M. Usher: in Italy Father's Day is on March 19, Mother's Day the second Sunday of May; maybe this is the reason (about Italian cookiers) of this phenomenon

Happy Sunday to all ❤️

Could be - though I must say, we have a relative dearth of Fathers' Day cookies no matter the time of year! And dads love cookies too!

Ahahah! You are right indeed! No way, we will never understand it

Congrats, Zara! And congrats to all the cookiers featured.

The cookies honored are beautiful and being so ephemeral, sometimes they deserve to be again in the spotlight.

I agree, we usually don't see so many cookies for Father's Day compared to the number of those produced for Mother's Day. Maybe because FD  it is celebrated during different days around the world but spreaded in different way than MD. And also because there are many more themes suitable for Mother's Day: flowers, gardening, embroidery, sewing, fashion and so on and on. At the elementary school I was struggling when it was time to make a card, especially once when we had to choose between pipes and ties. My father didn't smoke in general and the ties recalled "work" to me and not "free time spent together"....
