As I mentioned with some dismay in last week's Spotlight, it seems that cookiers always hop from Halloween right over Thanksgiving and onto Christmas, without ever giving turkeys, pumpkin pies, or other Thanksgiving themes a chance! Well, I'm finally going to put that trend to rest by casting our attention this week on only the top ten cookies in the Thanksgiving clip set.
To my surprise, there's actually quite a lot for us to feast on in that set. Perhaps my theory was wrong? Or maybe you folks heard my cries of distress last week, and amped up your production of Thanksgiving cookies in response? I'm not sure, but, either way, our hot list* has an abundance of gorgeous leaves, gourds, pumpkins, and other treats that would look resplendent on any Thanksgiving table! Move over, pumpkin pie! Hail to the Thanksgiving cookie!
And, of course, congrats to this week's honorees! (P.S. Please be sure to read to the bottom of this post for important notes about next week's Spotlight, which will be our Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #25 recap.)

And, last, a blast from the past (this cookie was posted four years ago, but is still trending high on the site) . . .
#10: Pumpkins and Gourds by Lucy (Honeycat Cookies)
If you haven't yet cranked up your Thanksgiving cookie output, I'm betting these cookies will give you ample reason to do so! A huge shout-out, once again, to this week's honorees.
Important note about next week's Spotlight: As noted above, next week's Spotlight will be the recap of our recent challenge, and was originally slated for posting on Saturday, November 11. However, I will be teaching/traveling from Wednesday, November 8 to Tuesday, November 14, and, since these teaching sprees rarely leave me time for anything but teaching or preparing to teach, I will likely be unable to post the challenge recap until November 14 or 15, upon my return to the US. Thanks for your understanding and patience.
So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.
