Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Cookies

The cookie world never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think it's not possible to find more cookie friends, I find them - and in the farmost corners of the worlds (at least from me in St. Louis, that is)!

And, just when I think cookie art has reached its pinnacle, and we've already seen every great cookie that there is to see, you go ahead and mess with my head by posting the world's most unimaginable cookies! I think you'll all see what I mean as soon as you take a peek at this week's hot list*. From graceful birds in a Japanese style to lifelike French cookware crafted by a cookie artist in Taiwan, we have so many nationalities and astounding cookiers represented in our Top 10 this week!

Gorgeous cookies, eh? Oh, and speaking of cookie friends from every corner of the globe, you've got a great opportunity to find and make new friends by taking part in our current Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge (our "You Complete Me" collaboration), so check it out here! In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your weekend (it's already Sunday in Jakarta)!

* As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

Wow, I've been away from the cookie world for awhile and these cookies are AMAZING! Cookiers all over the world are raising the stakes for new cookie designs.  I so enjoyed this posting and the totally unique, and beautifully executed creations.  All works of art. Bravo.
