Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Fathers' Day Cookies

Have you got a Dad who never expresses desire for any kind of gift - sort of like the Dad portrayed in one of this week's featured sets*? My Dad was that way - selfless, super generous with his kids, never needing or wanting  anything from us except our love, and . . . utterly impossible to shop for! Frustrating, eh? But, boy, do I ever miss him!

UsherFamilyPortraitGoofy Usher family portrait, circa 1970. Dad is holding my sister Betsy; that's me to the far right.

If you find yourself sharing similar Fathers' Day shopping quandaries, here's a tip: every Dad loves cookies, and you folks are clearly awesome at making them, as this week's hot list** is testament!

So get out your mixer and rolling pin - there's still time to whip up a quick set. And if you draw inspiration from any of today's spotlightees, Dad is sure to be impressed!

Great work, honorees! And tomorrow, everyone, please enjoy some time, either in person or in your memories, with your Dad!

** As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

Thank you all so very much! Honoured that my son's Birthday cookie was so loved.  I hope he hasn't eaten it - he might have to frame it now Congratulations to all the other honourees of this week, a great selection for the Dad's out there! X

Congratulations. It really is phenomenal.

Congrats to everyone featured. There was some real masculine eye-candy for sure

But I was just wondering when Father's Day is everywhere else in the world. Here in Germany it is more than a month gone already.

Julia, please post more pictures of your childhood soon ❤️

LOL. I hate to say, but all of my childhood and early adult photos were taken in the era of non-digital cameras, and I don't have many of those photos scanned. This is one of the few I had scanned and on my computer. Come to think of it, I probably need to organize my photos and start scanning them, before I lose track of them completely . . . one more thing to add to the to-do list!

Congratulations to all the honorees! The cookies featured are amazing! Fathers have been so well celebrated on CC as Mothers.

Thanks for sharing your pics, Julia, now I know that I like them so much for the reason they were taken in era of non-digital cameras and their colors bring lot of memories of my childhood and early adult life as well.

To answer Leoni' s question, Father's day in Italy is celebrated on March 19, Saint Joseph's Day (Jesus' foster dad), according with the Roman Catholic tradition.

Ahahah, your to-do list is growing day by day, I know but, please find the time to do it! I love also the pic you often post on Mother's Day with your mom and sister while decorating cookies! I always take it as example in my classes to explain that a lot of practice is needed to reach cookie goals; you started when you were a child and now everybody can see the results. Thank you for being an example for the all of us ❤️

Really?! You do that - wow!

Wow! I can't believe I was nominated for this. Thank you so much. I still feel like a rookie in cookie decorating and am always blown away by everyone work here. This means a lot to me. Cheers to great Father's today.
