My entry for the Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #27.

I always wanted to make cookies with my little fairy mascot and I thought this challenge was fitting with its circular bases. Everything is piped in white and then painted by hand. All wings are wafer paper.

Fairys, butterflies and dragonsflies... that's my world and it makes me happy, when they dance around in my garden. Ok... I haven't seen fairys yet, but I am sure they are there as well! ❤️

For the flooding of the cookies I also made a short video of the two methods I usually use. It can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePC20-Htwd4
Either I start in the middle or at the edge, doing circles until everything is flooded. With the help of a toothpick, paintbrush or needle tool I am going to smooth everything and remove air bubbles and such.

Somethow they look more wonky on the photos than they are 😂

These are so sweet!  Love the use of wafer paper for the butterflies & dragonflies!

Wanted to make them with royal icing first, but thought that they might look more fragile / life-like if I use wafer paper. It's more challenging to paint them though.

The is a really beautiful set of cookies, and your circles are perfection! The theme is so beautiful and springy, and I am swooning over all of those wafer paper wings.  I see not a single wonky one! I loved your video showing your process.  I use "method 2," but when I am all done, I usually give the cookie a good few shakes in different directions, check for "wonkiness" and then use my scribe tool some more to even out my circle if necessary.

Beautiful set and with so many techniques! I am drawn to the handpainted backgrounds, just to name one. The fairy is sooo cute!

Thank you, Manu! Glad you like them ♥
Pretty happy with these cookies and especially with my little fairy 😘

I just had a rough idea of what I wanted to do for the challenge and it was interesting to see how things got real and colorful.

The wings worked better than I thought. Was worring that they would deform while painting, but luckily they did not.

Haha, yeah... I do the shaky thing when I am afraid that I am too slow with my toothpick or scribe tool. Sometimes it ends with a mess, if I was a bit too eager though 😂
