Hand painted on glaze. I took a different approach with this, I think. I wanted to use raw texture and add color. My travels to Italy and Scotland came to mind - maybe because I tend to travel abroad in the spring. I used this particular plaque shape to represent a modern Easter Egg. All the colors are bleeding in to each other, and up into the top plaque.

I was inspired by the textures on the cement block and wall to the right of the signs in Photo 17, and also the gold in Photo 12. I'm the person you'll find sketching next to a building demolition site.

It is amazing reading that you've been inspired by concrete and seing so much color and texture. Love the idea of modern Easter Eggs and also love the gold on top.

Thank you.

Superb colors and textures!  May I ask how you achieved the underlying texture and what you used for the gold? Rolkem?

Thank you. The texture is glaze just dragged across a glazed surface. I did use Rolkem - what  a difference from regular gold/silver dust. I keep experimenting with glaze textures. I loved how the texture looked just white, but I wanted to add some color for this challenge. I know it's a bit of a left turn from the other entries, but I like taking chances.
