Atlantic Cod Cookie

Excellent Lucy, I'm looking for a fish cutter that resembles a Carp as my son and grandson are MAD Carp fishermen and I'd love to have a go at making one. Problem would be sending them over, not only safety wise, but Postal charges are outrageous here now. They've put a stop on relatives sending more affordable things to their family and friends in the U.K! It used to be so cheap, that the item + postage was STILL cheaper than buying it in the U.K!

I needed to post these within the UK, and at first I had assumed I would handcut the fish shapes, but I soon realised that they would be too fragile to post, hence using these water droplet shapes instead. It's very frustrating about the international shipping; I see products that are so much cheaper elsewhere too. Mind you, I'm not allowed to post any of my cookies to the US or Canada (insurance restriction) and I'm not really sure why!

I sent a Gingerbread House from NYC years ago, it was for my young grandchildren at the time. I wrapped it very well in tissue and bubble wrap & then put it in a large cardboard box (moving type). I don't recall what I put on the post office customs form, but it arrived all in 1 piece and no probs. For business purposes it just wouldn't be cost effective to send your cookies to the U.S. or further afield, but there's no reason why you can't within the EU if that's what u wanted to do. Postage everywhere has gone up so much, I think they're putting themselves out of business! Some of the other delivery services in the U.K. are giving the Royal Mail a run for its money I think.

Royal mail's not too bad now it's increased it's 'small' parcel size substantially - it's the only one I've found that operates locally that legitimately takes foodstuff. All the couriers I've tried don't take 'perishable' or 'foodstuff' :-/
