Carousel Horses

You've got it going on! These are really nice! WELCOME ON BOARD! 

So, here I go... My second-ever attempt at cookie decorating (my first was a largish (36) batch of christmas cookies, allowing me to experiment (and fail at) a few techniques...). These were meant as a birthday card for my sister to accompagny tickets to the fairground museum - I ended up giving her the green one, I think. 

These cookies were baked and decorated before I knew of this site, so I just snapped a quick shot with my phone - both the picture and background are really awful! I realise I need to hone my photography skills as much as my piping...

These cookies are about 8,5 x 7 cm in size (ca. 3,3 x 2,75 inches, I believe), and I wanted to ask, about what size are the cookies you most often work with? Are these large, or standard-sized? Thanks!

So pretty Annelise.  I didn't attempt anything that detailed until well into my habit and it wouldn't have been anywhere near that well done.  I can't wait to see what you do with a little practice!  To answer your questions, I tend to do 3.5 to 4 inch cookies for showers and weddings and 3" cookies for young birthdays.

Sorry, just saw your questions. My guess is that's pretty standard size for most cookie orders. I tend to work larger though, as I like to jam a lot on my cookies, and my eyes are not the best anymore! I usually work in the 4-inch range, or even larger as I get into dimensional stuff.
