Hi!

I want to share these vintage cookies with you all! They're inspired by ads from the 50's - 60's, I used colored cookies (faded teal) and added effects to the royal icing. For example, the pop corn ad has cracked royal icing to imitate crumpled paper.

I got inspired by some ads that I found on Pinterest.

Hoping you like them!

Nice work, @Cookies by joss. I temporarily re-opened the Practice Bakes Perfect clip set, so this image could be grouped with the others. But, as I think you know, it was posted after the challenge had closed, so it can't be included in the drawing or recap. But, by placing it in the challenge clip set, I hope that more members will see it and be able to appreciate your excellent work. Thanks!

Thank you so much @Julia M. Usher! Yes, unfortunately I missed the due date, but I'll be super glad that my set will be added to the others. Thank you again, Julia!

Agree!  I am so sad that this entry did not make it in time, because it is an absolutely wonderful set of vintage cookies! Your hand-painted lettering is fantastic, and the faded watercolors really capture the time period. Really nicely done, Joss!

Also, for future challenges, please note the rules for each individual challenge because they change for every challenge.  For instance, this one required a set of 5 cookies, not 4, and so even if you had gotten this set submitted in time, it would not have qualified for the challenge.

Thank you so much, Christine! I definitely forgot to make 1 extra for the challenge... Bummer! I'm glad you got to see them, I really enjoyed making these!

These are great Joss!! I love looking at old ads and then comparing prices from then to now...Yikes! I even remember when a stamp was .03. Of course that's a giveaway about my age. Lol.

These cookies are so fun and you did a great job, as always

Lol! Yes! Time flies and it's incredible to see the real prices! I wish I'd live in the 60's to see how everything has changed!
