Wondering how I piped the super detailed needlepoint patterns on my stuff-able stocking cookies posted recently for Christmas (video here)? Well, you’re in luck!

In this video, I reveal all of the details needed for needlepoint icing work, including the optimum icing consistencies for the grid and dots that form the pattern, tips for laying the grid uniformly, and even how to correct mistakes mid-process. I also share an argyle template, which is a good starter pattern for needlepoint beginners. (Note: Some decorators call this the cross-stitch technique, but I think it looks a heck of a lot more like my great grandmother’s needlepoint!)

P.S. Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss my upcoming releases! There are many more to come. Also, to see this video in high-res and its fully annotated glory, with embedded links, jump on over to YouTube to view it, here. Thanks!

I love all of your videos and love your app. It feels like I'm visiting you in your kitchen!  I think I'm going to try needlepoint on cookies even though I've never done any type of needlepoint work. It looks amazing and seems very therapeutic.

I always use a parchment cone - no messing with bag and tip cleaning, and I can get super fine lines this way. Not sure if you've tried a cone yet, but once you get the hang of it, I think you'll find it yields more precise results.
