As soon as I saw this challenge, I thought about Teri Lewis (Tweets Cookie Connection). I have admired her ability to cookie so freely. Her work is so expressive, creative and honestly just makes me smile. So this was my challenge: to make a cookie and not be afraid to color outside the lines, to experiment with Teri’s chocolate play dough, paint with luster dust, splatter, gold emboss, use only white RI and have fun! I spent a lot of time getting the feel of Teri’s artistry from her Tweets FB page. Got an idea and had fun with it. I then sent pic to Teri and we chatted. We actually had the same response to the first cookie... I was a bit splatter happy! This cookie is my humble attempt to infuse Teri’s spirit into my cookie making. There is one thing for sure. I had fun letting go...

This is a GORGEOUS cookie!  The colors are so full of energy, and the gold accents are magical!  (And you KNOW I love a bird!)  I am not very familiar with Teri's work, but I will certainly go check her out now!  Terrific entry!

Thank you.  Love this challenge to reach out to another cookier and 'see' cookies though anew set of eyes and share ideas.

Awesome! I love the story of your experimentation with letting go!

I also experienced the "OK... this is way out of the lines.... "  A fun challenge.

What a gorgeous cookie!!! I love the color combination and your attention to detail. Hummingbirds have to be one of my favorite birds as they are so delicate, colorful and beautiful. The fact that they hover gives me the chance to look at them more closely. Awesome work!!
