Seeking CookieCon 2017 Correspondents

Julia M. Usher
Hey, everyone. Like last year, I'm seeking one or two people to serve as CookieCon 2017 correspondents - meaning I'm looking for folks who would be interested in reporting on their experiences at CookieCon (while at CookieCon) to those back at home. The reporting could be in the form of photo posts (like these from last year's event ) or blog posts (like those here by last year's correspondents: @BAKRGAL aka Barb Florin, @JenniBakes4U, and @Sugar Cookie Momma, Inc.).Read More...

You'll Love Our February Site Artists!

Julia M. Usher
As Charles M. Schulz once said, " All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." Of course, the same can be said of cookies too, especially cookies as wondrous as the love-inducing sets gracing our banner and backdrop throughout this Valentine month! I guarantee you'll fall head over heels as soon as you see them! And I do mean "sets", plural! We're super fortunate to have not one, but two site contributions for February, which will be taking turns in the spotlight.Read More...

Important Reminder about Copying and Posting Characters without Permission

Julia M. Usher
Hi, all, regrettably, I've recently had to delete some images from challenges and other areas of the site due to lack of compliance with Rule #8 of our posting guidelines, which states that artwork (including characters, from Disney, Hasbro, etc.) cannot be copied and posted here without permission from the creator : http://cookieconnection.juliau...READ-BEFORE-YOU-POST In response to those deletions, some members have asked me why so many licensed character cookies exist on the site,...Read More...

One Big Cookie or a Bunch of Small?

Rojosells
I am going to be selling old fashioned-style cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal, pb, etc.) at fairs and was wondering if it's better to sell one large cookie or bagged half and full dozen. Anyone have experience with which are more popular? There aren't too many fairs or markets around here and most are very pricey for a table. I guess I can offer both and see how it goes. Thanks!Read More...

Selling at a Fall Festival

Brigitte Thiele
Hello, I have rented booth space to sell cookies at a small town fall festival next weekend. It was $30 for a day and a 20x20' spot. Attendance is around 1500 to 2000 people. I have been selling a few orders here and there and have started building a good business. But . . . I need some ideas and help with a festival booth. I am ok on all the laws and regulations. What I need is advice from people who may have done this or people with insight. For example . . . Do I put a few cookies out as...Read More...

Large Cookie Order - How to Execute the Project?? 750 Cookies!

Hi all, I've received a prospective enquiry about providing 750 royal-iced cookies for next year. I haven't accepted the order as I'm completely stumbled as to how to go about executing such a large number of cookies so I would appreciate any feedback for the following questions: 1) I cannot bake that many cookies at home, so I'm trying to find a commercial kitchen with a large oven I could use. I've contacted local community centers and a couple of restaurants to no avail. Any ideas on how...Read More...

Practice Inventory - What to Do with It?

Ms. K
Forgive me if this seems like a strange "I should already know" question, but as you all practice, to whom or where to you give all of your practice inventory? How many practice cookies at a time are you using? I find myself making at least a dozen per practice, usually only doing 3-4 cookies each decor? I'm home-based, but do not have a lot of business, so I need to watch how my product is used. Any suggestions would wonderful. Thank you Charlette Ms. K's Goodies N ThingsRead More...

Advice on Working with Party Planner

Lisa Marie Loosier
I started working with a party planner that creates mock parties for photo shoots a few months ago. She actually ordered cookies for her son's birthday and paid, but said she had a photo shoot coming up and would like a donation. I donate cookies in exchange for professional photos and exposure. But I can see now on her personal Instagram that she is actually using them for her other son's birthday! I guess as long as I get pictures I shouldn't complain? But that seems a bit unethical. Thoughts?Read More...

Very Strange Customer Phone Call

Bella Sucre
I just received a call from a woman checking on her order due for this weekend. After looking up her name, address, email, phone and any combination of, no order was to be found. She states that this is her 3rd order. I attempt to look up any orders by product shipped to her state. Nothing. I ask that she look at her billing statement to see if our # is listed. She doesn't have it. She's moved recently and doesn't have it. I tell her that I believe she must be mistaken and really ordered...Read More...
