I started with the KP-101-01 which worked great at first but eventually had issues charging. It lasted me about two years. The cord plugged into the side of the projector so there was always pressure on it which caused it to loosen over time. Now, I use the P5. It's a little more expensive, but the cord comes out of the top so it's more stable and it charges while it's in use. The brightness and image quality is a little bit better too.
This video walks you through how to set up the projector. I found it to be really helpful.
Do you use the same stand and the same cords with the P5 that you used with the KP-101-01?
Same stand. I use this one. The cord is different though. For the KP-101-01, you need a mini HDMI to HDMI cable. For the P5, you just need a standard HDMI cable. You also need an adapter to plug it into your iPhone/iPad (for both projector models). I use this one, but it depends on the model of your device.
