Hi, all! As I mentioned in an earlier post, several Cookie Connection members were nominated for the first-ever Edible Artists Global Awards (EAGA), which honor excellence in various categories of the edible arts. (To read more about the mission of the EAGA, click here.)
Well, just today, the EAGA judges whittled down the long lists of nominees to finalists in each of seven "Most Inspiring" awards categories and a "Most Innovative Product" category. Congrats to Cookie Connection member @Marta Torres - Royal Icing Cookie Art (aka Marta Torres) for placing in the Royal Icing category and to @Creative Cookier for placing in the Most Innovative Product category!
The ultimate winner in each of these eight categories will be determined by online popular vote between now (October 21) and November 7. The polls are officially open, so don't delay: jump online now to cast your vote! In addition to the above categories, the EAGA also confer four "Artist of the Year" awards and three "Lifetime Achievement" awards, the winners of which are hand-selected by the EAGA judges. I'm pleased to announce that I'm up for "Artist of the Year USA", so please keep your fingers crossed!
Winners receive cash prizes as well as recognition at the International Bakery Expo (IBE) Show/EAG awards ceremony in Hong Kong on December 1, 2016.
