I want to use chocolate chip cookies on a platter as a filler. I’ve never made my own till now. Go figure! I’ve tried recipes and all of them flatten. I’m looking for one that will stay puffed up and not spread too much and have a nice golden top on it. For those of you in the States, I would compare it to a Sam’s Club chocolate chip cookie. I’m not great with the science of baking, so if anyone here could share a recipe with me, I would be very grateful.

I prefer chocolate chips cookie recipes that have oatmeal.  Also, to help them not flatten as much I add nuts.  Sorry I don’t share my chocolate chip cookie recipe, but king Arthur typically has very good recipes.

Sorry, I don't have a recipe that I can handily share, but if you want a cookie to spread less and rise more, you can tweak several variables: (1) substitute shortening for some of the butter (butter spreads more, all else staying the same); (2) add more flour; and/or (3) use more leavening (for greater rise).
