Dubbed the Oscars of the cake world, the Cake Masters Magazine Awards will take place on November 7, 2015 at the Birmingham (England) National Exhibition Centre. After vetting tens of thousands of nominations this year, the Cake Masters team has just announced its finalists, including those in a cookie category!

A big round of applause to the following cookie finalists, all of whom are also Cookie Connection members! Woo hoo!

As for how all of these accomplished and deserving finalists will get whittled down to one winner in each category, let me tell you! I've been asked once again to judge this competition, along with 10 other judges from various walks of sugar art.

JUDGES PANEL2015 FB

Over the next week or so (or however long it takes to do the job justice), we'll each independently evaluate the portfolios of work submitted by each finalist in the eight sugar art categories (namely Cupcake, Wedding Cake, Cookie, Royal Icing, Sugar Flowers, Novelty Cake, Collaboration, and Modelling Excellence.) We'll each, again independently, select a winner in each category; those results will be tallied; and any close calls will be carefully discussed to determine the ultimate winners. All deliberations will be held in the strictest of confidence, with no interaction with finalists or any other interested parties during the judging process . . . so from here on, mum's the word! Of course, this is a monumentally difficult task given the caliber of work submitted, but I am tremendously honored to have been selected to do it.

Congrats again to all of the finalists - you are all winners to have made it so far!

Good luck to all of you, Ladies!

My thoughts too Laegwen.  I would decline being a judge   lol

I saw Evil Cake Genius/Gauteux, Inc.  Love them too.  No, I have difficulty mastering their mesh stencils but think I did it last week.  I'll try again.  I like what they offer but I'll have to do for now with what I purchased until I feel like I've mastered using them.
