Hi, all! I've got two important pieces of news for you, so read on, please!

 

First, I wanted to alert you to our latest, very exciting addition to the Cookie Connection contributor team! With her inaugural post about baking paper, Liesbet Schietecatte joins us today as author of the bimonthly (every-other-month) blog feature, Toolbox Talk. Liesbet explains the genesis of this feature in good detail in her post, but basically Toolbox Talk is Cookie Connection's alternative to a global tool/ingredient glossary - a place where we can collectively explore similarities and differences in cookie tools and ingredients from all over the world.

 

Many, many thanks to Liesbet for taking on this challenge! And what a challenge it is! Unlike many of our other features, this one involves a good deal of primary research and the distillation of a vast amount of product information from all parts of the globe. 

 

I'm sure you'll all get to know Liesbet very well through her posts, but here's a brief background to get you acquainted.

 

Liesbet Schietecatte, born in Belgium but permanently living in South Africa since 2005, accidentally found her way into cookie decorating in 2012. Grabbing moments in between her career as an archaeologist and being a mommy and a wife, Liesbet bakes Belgian biscuits like speculoos in the tradition of her grandmother’s family who were bakers for several generations, but she gets the most creative satisfaction from decorating with royal icing. She bakes and decorates for occasional orders and at times for a crafters' market, but mostly for the enjoyment and challenge of trying out new things. To honour her family's baking legacy, Liesbet uses the family name to give a home to her baking pictures on Facebook: Stock’s – Belgian Artisan Bakes.

As for the second bit of news . . . I am sad to announce that Rebecca Litterell has departed from the contributor team as of her last Storefront Diaries post. Since the building of her "storefront" has largely come to an end, it only makes sense that she should focus her energy now on growing her business. We so appreciate all of her contributions to the site and will miss her dearly, but wish her every success with her new baking space. May her business grow by leaps and bounds!

Welcome!.     Here in Mexico we have many cellophane, as a bag to bake, as a bag to pack cookies and candies, as big squares to pack gifts and it comes in colors like blue, green, red and yellow, some people use then to pack candies too but first pack the candies in other paper and then with the colored cellophane.
