Impulse Sealer

I found the best price for an impulse sealer for our cookies. I originally bought a 12 inch with cutter refurbished and paid around $90.00 for it over 2 years ago.
Around December it started overheating and eventually burned itself it out.

I did much more research this time and bought a new 8 inch sealer "with cutter" from Technopak. It works like a charm.
I have been buying real cellophane bags from www.clearcellobags.com.

Check out the prices at Technopak. If you are in the market for an impulse sealer, this might be the pricing you need.

Just purchased this one ... it arrived today - can't wait to try my new toy!!

I bought a heat sealer a few years ago without the cutter to save money but soon wished I had spent the extra money on the one with cutter. Thanks  for info on sealer with cutter, this is cheaper than what I paid for mine without the cutter. I think I might invest this one.

It also cuts really straight... parallel to the seal. Better and faster than you can do with scissors and it takes literally one second. it's worth the few extra dollars to get one with the cutter. Originally Posted by HappyLorisBaking:

You probably have your answer by now but yes, the bags at Michaels and Joann's work. I found from others about a place online called Gifts International and the bags there are sooo cheap. They come out to about a penny a piece. Shipping is high but if you buy enough bags it is worth it.

Hi lovely cookiers! Just wondering if most of you opt for the 8" size sealer or the 12"? Was thinking of ordering the larger size but now second guessing that it might just be cumbersome. Does anyone have examples of when they've used the larger size and what it's useful for?

Whatever size you purchase, if you are sealing a large number of bags make sure that it has a cutter!  I opted for one without originally and after using it to seal large orders I upgraded to one with a cutter.  It is really worth the extra money.
