My tech guys (Hoop.la) are constantly working hard to bring both members and site admins (like me) new features. Today, they announced a bunch, many of which pertain only to admins. But . . . there are three enhancements that may interest many of you:
- Announcement Feature: Now, if I have an important site announcement that I want everyone to see, I can create a short message that will appear on your screen when you log into the site to start a new session. Once you've read it, just mark it as read, and it won't appear again. You'll see this feature in action now with the announcement of our Craftsy giveaway winner.
- iPad-Friendly Uploads: Until today, you couldn't upload photos or videos to the site from an iPad, but now you can. Hurrah for iPad users!
- Pause Button for Chats: This feature is for those of you who frequent our live chats. If the chat activity on your screen starts moving too fast for you to read, you can now hit a pause button (near where comments are entered) to stop the flow of activity to your screen. The chat will continue while you're paused; this is just a mechanism for you to pace what you see and read when a chat is especially busy. Just hit the un-pause button when you're ready to resume viewing as usual.
