Mark your calendars now for September 16, 2017 (10 am central), because we've got an exciting live chat scheduled with the very talented @Tammy Trahan New Orleans Cookie Company of New Orleans Cookie Company!

While Tammy has been a member of Cookie Connection since 2014, I hadn't had the pleasure of actually seeing her work until she posted some images recently into my Facebook cookie group. (Now, if I could only get Tammy to start posting here!  ) It didn't take more than one or two posts for me to realize that this woman has some serious decorating skills, a great knack for combining a wide range of techniques, and a wonderful eye for color and presentation. And so, I decided to invite Tammy to share her cookie journey with us, first in this live chat and, then again in more depth, in a Cookier Close-up interview later this month.

Just to give you a glimpse of what I saw in Tammy's work, and to stimulate some chat questions for her, I'm posting a couple of Tammy's cookie photos below:

Glorious cookies, right?!  I hope these few photos spur you to join us on September 16! In the meantime, please check out Tammy's bio (below), her Facebook page, and her Instagram feed for more information. And if you can't make the chat, please leave advance questions for Tammy in her chat room here. She'll make a point of answering all of your questions on the day of the chat, and, afterwards, you can return to the chat transcript (using the same chat room link, above) to review her answers!

Tammy Trahan began her career as an artist in New England. She acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Swain School of Design and worked as a designer in New York City. Eventually she headed south to find a neat little city called New Orleans. She continued working in graphics and jewelry design, and also received a Master of Arts (MA) degree in counseling. She has called New Orleans home for 34 years.

Tammy's first cookie inspiration came from seeing beautifully decorated cookies by Julia M. Usher, Amber Spiegel (aka SweetAmbs), and Liz Adams (aka Arty McGoo). It was in 2015 that Tammy finally picked up the icing bag, watched SweetAmbs' videos, and then joined McGoo U, Arty McGoo's online cookie decorating school.

New Orleans Cookie Company was founded in 2017, with a love for New Orleans, when Tammy designed a line of cookies depicting the warmth, celebration, and nostalgia of her amazing city. Tammy loves handpainting, detail, and embellishing her cookies. Says Tammy, “Every cookie artistically celebrates my love for art, design, color, and life itself.”
