Hi, all, so sorry - I had fully intended to do a Spotlight today, but I've been without power for the last three days due to a tornado-like storm that ripped through our area on Wednesday. Most of our yard is still littered with large tree limbs as you can see below.

We were able to borrow a generator from one of my husband's work colleagues (silver and red thing in upper left of above photo), but it was only strong enough to power our refrigerator and freezer in the basement. My electric oven in my basement test kitchen was too much for it to handle, and my upstairs gas oven has an electrically-controlled igniter, so it was pretty much useless as well . . . Long story short, I was oven-less for three days and got WAY behind on baking for my next teaching trip in two weeks.

So . . . ever since the power was finally restored late last night, I've been baking and icing non-stop to make up for the lost time. I expect to have to continue this pace for the next few days until I am back on course with my pre-storm schedule, but I should be back to normal in time for next week's Saturday Spotlight.

My apologies, but please stay tuned!

Sorry to hear that Julia. Hope you can finish in time all of your work, you don't have to be sorry, you have done a lot for all of us teaching everything you can and building this place for everyone. Thanks for that. happy baking!

Thank you for popping over in the yesterday chat when you have hectic time. Hope you'll be back to normal soon!

Thanks for doing such a wonderful job with the chat. You shared a lot of great info, very eloquently (and pictorially - loved the photo collages of flowers!), so I hope people who couldn't be there take advantage of the transcript!
