Hello

Wendie
Hi, everyone! I'm very new to decorating. I took up cookies when my son entered the Navy; I needed an outlet for my nerves. I'm a single mom, he's my one and only. Anyhoo, cookies are new to me, my work is new and awkward, I'm inspired to be better. I've literally watched hours and hours and read for hours on Julia's style and, if I could do a 1/4 of her style and pretty work, I could post a picture! Oh, did I mention I'm color blind! Lol, yes, it's a challenge. But I have great friends and...Read More...

Summer hasn't yet fully arrived here in Missouri - on one day, the thermostat might trick you into thinking it has, and then, on the very next day, it plummets to brisk spring-like temperatures, usually accompanied by lots of rain. Well, I'm ready for brighter, warmer days every day (and not for sun-bathing, but to help my cookies dry faster!), so I'm going to will the new season to arrive (at least in my mind) by plastering this site with super summery artwork this month: Isn't our June...Read More...

Yogurt Royal Icing

Kimberlie
I know this site has nothing to do with dogs, but I make human and dog cookies all the time. I see dog cookies with yogurt icing that dries hard all the time in stores, some not so good. I'd like to start making my own but I can't find much info on the subject. I'm thinking if I could get one that works well that I can flood and pipe with it could even be a healthy alternative for humans. If anyone knows anything I am all ears and thank you for putting up with my silly questions.Read More...

Hi, all! As I'm sure most of our site veterans are well aware, @Laegwen, known in real life as Leoni Eckart, has been an official Cookie Connection contributor for just over a year! She made her inaugural blog post on May 12, 2016, and has been posting her inspired cookie tutorials under the Get Inspired with Laegwen section of our blog ever since. Lucky us! Words really can't express how appreciative I am of Leoni's consistently high quality work and commitment to...Read More...

Hi, gals - I have a somewhat interesting situation and I'm not quite sure how to respond. I found myself wondering if other cookie artists have ever been in the same situation and how they have responded . . . so here it goes! Recently, I had an order inquiry for bachelorette party cookies. She texted me a photo of what she was interested in and the color scheme was very cute - black, white, pink, and gold - and the cookies were decorated well. The only problem is that there were several...Read More...

Fondant Fruit Molds

Forum: Tools
Kimberlie
I know this site is more about cookies than cakes, but I have a friend, and I need to make a cake for her one-year-old's birthday that is themed fruit. I can't find enough fondant molds in one place. If anyone knows where I can find them in the US, so I don't have to wait on customs, please let me know. I don't have much time. Thank you.Read More...

Hi. I'm visiting my mom, and she asked that I make some cookies for her benifit auction tonight and tomorrow night. These are epic fails. I'm in Mexico working with gas appliances, which I'm not used to. Cookies browned a lot more than I like. She's never heard of a silpat. So we used parchment paper on aluminum sheets. Oven temperature is correct. Royal icing looked great. Colored well. 15-second consistency seemed very thick. I went with 8-second. Still had separation between colors. We...Read More...
