Saturday Spotlight: Top 10 Cookies

Hey, all! Thanks for your patience as you've waited for the next Close-up. I've had a rough couple of weeks with helping to pack up my mom's house to ready it for showings. She'll be moving nearer to me here in St. Louis, hopefully by year end, and the real estate agent who's listing her house was adamant that the 50 year's worth of clutter be removed from her counters and tabletops before the house is photographed next week. Needless to say, this task is huge - and quite difficult for one with emotional attachments to the clutter to do on her own. So, a week or so ago, I flew to Connecticut on short notice to assist my mom. We made great progress last week, but there's still a lot more to do. Fortunately, we've now lined up a professional organizer who will hopefully ease the load and get the rest of the clutter under control. On top of this recent trip to the East Coast, I've been combing my new site for glitches, fixing lingering trouble spots, and optimizing its views on multiple devices, all before I announce its launch. It's amazing how much detail is involved with the optimization task . . . My eyes are weary from relentless computer screen-viewing! Anywho, keep your eyes peeled for my site announcement. (Hint: It's coming very soon!)

Enough about me! (I just wanted you to know why I haven't been very present here, or anywhere online for that matter . . .) Let's talk about YOU and your wonderful posts this past week. Tonight, I'm featuring a belated Fourth of July set, lots of summer (and even some end-of-summer) themes, and several fun cutter flips. In short, this week's honorees run the gamut. Carry on to see what I mean . . .

So that's a wrap! Congrats again, everyone! I leave you with some good news: I'll be in town for the next few weeks so, barring any unforeseen schedule snafus, you should be able to count on a consistent stream of Close-ups through the rest of the summer. "See" you next week!

* As a reminder, a word about how the rankings are determined: The rankings are not at all subjective. In fact, they are determined essentially by you, our members, and the activity (number of views, likes, and comments) you've bestowed on each photo. The site uses a top-secret algorithm that weighs these various factors to determine which photos are trending most quickly (i.e., are the "hottest") over specified periods of time. As such, the hot list at the time of this announcement may look a little different a few hours or a day from now as more photos are added to the site.

So that no one has an unfair advantage in making it onto a hot list, the algorithm is secret even to site administrators. Only our platform developers know the code, which has been exhaustively tested by those developers and Cookie Connection staff.

All photos shown here are the courtesy (and copyright) of the designers listed.

To check out our other hot lists, at any time of day, visit our Hot Spot, also found in the site's main navigation line.

Thank you so much for including me in such a great collection. Congratulations to everyone. And a big thank you for taking time from your very busy schedule to pull this together. I am sure that what you are going through with your mother hits on all the emotions. I still have plenty of things  that are from my parents’ home that I have stored in my house because I wasn’t sure what to do with. The sorting has been on my to do ever since. Im waiting for more distance with my emotions….

Yes, exactly - cleanup has been physically but also emotionally exhausting. Thanks for the nice words.

@kns93 Did you airbrush or use an Eddie printer on these cookies? I ask because the tags say airbrushing, but the layout of color (white stars on blue) in the spangled areas would suggest printer use. Just asking to be sure I’ve accurately described the cookie in the post above (I don’t think I have) and that the photo is tagged properly as well. Thanks so much. Great set!

Thanks so much!  I was in a cabin close to my parents house in NE Alabama and didn’t have WiFi!  Checked my email to the great surprise of THREE sets featured!   I’m so surprised and pleased!   These are actually demo set for classes I’m offering this July & August.  Thanks again, I am so honored. ❀️❀️
