Watch-Learn-Create Challenge #51 - Deadline Extension!

Hi, everyone! I am so thrilled to see all of the amazing creations presented so far for Watch-Learn-Create Challenge #51, whose featured guest is @Julia M. Usher.

Julia wrote in a comment: “I can't express how much joy it's bringing me to see everyone's immensely creative entries come in. I never thought of making some of the things you all have created, and now I am super inspired to come up with some new ideas! Thank you, everyone, for brightening my life and igniting my enthusiasm. I can't wait to see the entries that have yet to come in!”

I was so happy to read Julia’s comment, and I felt the same way while looking at each entry.

Each entrant found a way to transform her real-life inspiration into 3-D cookies, thanks to Julia’s presentation. We have seen bracelets, fish, donuts, pottery, ice cream cones, and bonnets! I loved reading in the comments how each cookier got through the process of creating her entry, and seeing the pictures of the tools she used. Every entry is so inspiring!

Apparently, the shape of anything that might inspire us is no longer a limitation since Julia gave us all of the tools and techniques to decode any object and recreate it in cookie form.

As of today, there is still a week left to the enter the challenge, but I think it would be worthwhile to extend the deadline to see even more creations. I know, this is a challenge and a deadline is a deadline, but this is also a learning experience, and the ultimate purpose of these challenges is to stretch skills, to inspire each other, and to share what everyone learned while going through the process. We learn together, we grow together. If you only think how much you have inspired Julia herself with the challenge entries so far!

So you have two more weeks to create, and you can post your entries by Tuesday October 4, 5 pm central time. Remember: The challenge directions, including Julia's two-part kick-off video, can be found in the blog under the Cookie Connection Challenges clip set, or click here to be taken to the same place.

Yes! I truly meant what I said above - the entries have been so impressive and inspiring. Thank you, everyone, for bringing the light of your creations into my life at a time when I needed just that.

But special thanks to @Manu biscotti decorati for putting her heart and soul into these new challenges. She has done an amazing job of figuring out all of the technology, selecting guests (yes, some great ones are already lined up for the rest of the year!), and working with those guests to bring Cookie Connection members some never-before-seen content. Manu, you are simply the best!

Where can I find the links to the Julia's presentation cookies videos?

I would like to watch them 😍😍

Great, I hope you enjoy them! Either of the two pink links in the post above will take you to the challenge directions where my two videos are embedded. See also this note at the end of the above post:

Yay!!! I'm working on an entry . Yes, and the additional time is most helpful as my project is turning out to be more complex than originally thought when I sketched it. Figures, eh? THANK YOU for the unexpected and most helpful extra time Julia @Julia M. Usher and Manu @Manu biscotti decorati ❤️❤️

I need to look at ALL the entries to date (I've only seen a few so far). The work is fabulous and inspirational beyond words! This is a super fun challenge and I'm confident that everyone else is learning as much as I am through the process of doing something completely new.

The tutorial has been very helpful! Thank you for the time it took you and Manu to put it together for us. I've watched sections of it a few times already .
