20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #14 (Mixed Media) 

This cookie is biased on the book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  Also my first post! 

The medias used are listed below.

The giant squid I used royal icing and royal icing transfer along with hand drawing on the eye.

Nautilus is a royal icing transfer

Nemo’s N is poured sugar and metallic paint.

Rocks are chocolate

The collar is finished in hand painting

The green coral is a sprinkle from Wilton

The sea grass and yellow coral are both sculpted fondant shades with petal dust and luster.

Background is an edible image of the map from the book 20,000 Leagues under the sea.  It is also airbrushed to help create the ocean water.

Air bubbles are done with glass candy drops.

I really love this.

Total awesome sauce!  I LOVE the theme.  This is such a fun and unique cookie. It tells the story perfectly. I am curious to hear what you thought of the poured sugar with metallic paint that you used for the N - Did you achieve the effect you were looking for?  And how difficult was it to work with as a medium?
