The racket strings and the tennis court net are made by using @SugarVeil needlepoint lace. It is funny how the same size of lace fits racket and court.

I tried different colors and texture for the tennis court. Green looked weird. Then I tinted crumbs to gave the idea and the texture of clay (my favourite surface to play on), but the lines were an issue. So I finally got to this version.

I made the first racket without thinking and I naturally decorated the cookie like my own racket, until I realized that it was a copyrighted design! So I needed to came up with my own original design. To make the strings I spreaded three different colors of SugarVeil icing onto the mat and they blended beautifully. The racket is not perfect in the proportions, but I will work on it. This one looks more like a junior.

I imagined this cookies to be one of the possible contents of my Fathers' Day box. See tutorial here.

These are great Manu! Having made tennis cookies for a client I know that they can be challenging to do well. You did an awesome job on these .

Thank you so much, Carol. Yes, they are tricky.

My challenge here was to adapt the needlepoint to racket and court. I decided to go for this perspective of the court, rather than a bird's-ey view, thinking of how I see the net in front of me, and then I sketched the court in the shape of a trapezium. In the final version the "court" fills all the space in the trapezium, as the lines are very close to the edges of the cookie.

It was so much fun and easy to make the ombre strings, while I had a hard time with the racket frame. But that because having played tennis I am very picky on details.

I keep forgetting that cookies shouldn't be perfect and that they are hand made. They should just give the idea of what they rapresent to the people that look at them.

Good approach to making these Manu. So you've played tennis?  Me too!! It was a passion of mine for many years.  I really got into playing tournament and  leagues. Only quit playing when I was forced to do so. Do you still play?  A fun and  wonderful game

Great set! Thank you for sharing your technique on the strings and net. I'm an avid player too, but I avoid doing rackets because they are so time consuming to pipe :-( . But now I'll have to reconsider that and use your trick (if I can overcome my Sugarveil fears).  Thank you, thank you!
