These is my entry for the Practice bakes perfect challenge #28. Tutorial that I use for these challenge is Valentine mug by @Manu biscotti decorati .I really wanted to try something difficult and I really liked the mug how she did it and the tutorial .I did change on it the colour instead of red I use blue and the theme I make it for summer time.

Here is the link from the Manu tutorial

http://cookieconnection.juliau...chocolate-cookie-mug

I did dark chocolate with white pieces chocolate cookie dough  (I did mistake adding the white chocolates pieces because after while I was coating the cookie was very difficult).

I did 5cm and 3cm heart shape cookie cutter, 10 of them, half heart for the mug handle (Picture #1)

I did blue and white medium consistency ,coat them one by one as the tutorial with a small brush, with turning the heart frame perpendicular to the table with the point of the heart facing up,tapping with a brush one side then the other side of the heart frame and putting them hanging on chopstick which are seated on 2 mugs.

After they were air dry I did the side decoration whit white piping consistency in pastry bag tip#1

The lid of the mug I coated in blue and after with stiff white consistency royal icing and brush I did the sea water effect.(Picture #2)

The mermaid tail I did royal icing transfer and it was hand painted. After to the end I glued the mug handle and the mermaid tail. The sea shells on the lid are from fondant, made with  silicone mold shells shape.

These was very challenge to make, there are a lot of mistake like while I coat the heart frames they are not really firm and the hight of the heart frames are not equal since I don't have the rolling pin with the measurement on the sides so the heart are not equal. But I really enjoyed making them, since I'm going to gift them I did one more mug for my friend who really love her dog (Picture #3)

Thank you and have a wonderful day

It looks great! And, thanks for leaving your very detailed remarks and links to Manu's tutorial here. You'll probably want to remove the other clip from the challenge clip set, and just post it as an attachment here. We don't allow more than one entry of the same project in the clip set.

In fact, I am going to do this now. Thanks.

So lovely, Manu! You nailed it again👏👏💕

This cookie was actually made by @Olivera Vlah using Manu's tutorial, for our current Practice Bakes Perfect challenge that challenges people to try our tutorials! Olivera did a great job, thanks to her skill and Manu's great tutorial!

What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, Olivera @Olivera Vlah for giving a try to my tutorial, probably one of the most difficult projects among those I have shared so far.

I love both takes on it very much, mermaid and dog (great handpainted transfers), and actually I can’t pick my favorite. I really like to see how one idea could be developed in a different way (two in this case!) and you really did a great job. Thank you!

Thank you also for sharing all the details and all the difficulties you have encountered. You made me realize that I focused on giving tips on how to avoid to misshape the heart pieces, and I gave direction to roll at 1 cm, but I didn’t suggest to use a rolling pin with measuring rings at the sides to get an even thickness (I took it for granted, but I will point it out in my next tutorials)!!! Anyway even now that you mentioned, I can’t tell that from the picture, both mugs look great.

💙 Manu

Thank you Manu, your tutorial is wonderful and is very good explained, sorry maybe is misunderstanding since my English is second language,I meant that I don't have the rolling pin with measuring pins on a side and most of time I do hand cut the cookies so that's why sometimes I don't get the shapes like they suppose to be  😃   . Your explanation is exilent,it's very detailed,I will change that on my comment.

Thank you a lot that you like them..❤

Yes, I understood what you meant, no need to edit the comment. It is a good feedback and very helpful for the future. English is also my second language😊😊😊. But we talk the universal cookie language here, don’t we?😊😊😊

Such a cute idea for the challenge!! It's instantly recognizable as using one of @Manu biscotti decorati's fabulous tutorials for a jumping off place. Beautifully done with the mermaid touch

Thank you,her @Manu biscotti decorati tutorial is wonderful I really enjoyed making

Oli!  This is fantastic!  You did a wonderful job using Manu's tutorial, and I really like how you changed it up a bit to make it summery. I really appreciate your very detailed description of your process, and how your difficulties served as feedback to Manu for her future tutorials.  This is a gorgeous project and I am sure your friend was thrilled to receive it as a gift!
