Thanks again, Manu. It was not easy to find the exact point of the sugar to have this effect, too much sugar = towel effect, not enough sugar = stone effect but I loved your tutorial and these cookies. Thank you for your effort, totally worth it!

Thanks again, Manu. It was not easy to find the exact point of the sugar to have this effect, too much sugar = towel effect, not enough sugar = stone effect but I loved your tutorial and these cookies. Thank you for your effort, totally worth it! 

 

Yes, I know, right! But the typical stitches used for felt crafts help to trick the eye! It is crucial to use icing sugar (aka confetctionerโ€™s sugar/ powder sugar/zucchero a velo) because it gives a matt finish and it is crucial to apply random dabs of flooding-consistency royal icing to give some underlying texture because felt isn't as smooth as velvet or suede. The โ€œfelt effectโ€ is a combination of these three factors.
