Let me start with a: what an amazing challenge, @Bakerloo Station! I think it's super great to look back in time, and remember those cookies one used to make... The story behind this set is touching for me, because this was one of my first Christmas cookie set ever. I made the original set in December 22nd 2015, and the redo set, was made just yesterday! I'm such a happy cookie to look back in time, and see how much I've improved, I'm really happy and proud to have found my way in life, and doing what I love the most: art.

Changes made: the snowmen faces were painted, instead of using Royal icing like in the old set, I changed the colors from colorful red green and white, to a more elegant style, using black, deep green, sand and Teal. I also designed new cookies for the new set. I went for a more formal and light renewed version of the old set, added new techniques such as stencil in the heart cookie with the word "Love", and the use of rubber stamp in the round cookie with the reindeer with a cage. The snowflakes went lighter than the old ones, because instead of flooding it with royal icing, I colored the dough, giving it a more fresh look, with the details in white.

Hi, Joss, These cookies are lovely, but please remember that the challenge requires you to explain some of the key changes you made to the re-do set, and why. Please add these notes in a comment here in order to remain in the challenge. Thank you.

Is it better now, Julia?

Yes, that's fine.

You can definitely see your decorating progression from one year to the next here!  I like the streamlined color palette and how you used the colored dough to match your royal icing decorations. As a result, the redo set of cookies definitely works more as a cohesive set than the original ones.

Thank you so much Christine, I'm just glad I took the opportunity to participate in the pbp challenge! Thank you for creating this amazing instance for us to realize how much we've grown as artists!
