So this set actually has 15 total cookies. You can somewhat see the line where the additional cookies were added on the end of the long stripes and then iced over. This was because I apparently miscalculated and although I'd had 7 stripes by the blue and 6 long ones, my blue section ended up being wider rather than tall enough. Math error on my part.

Love it!  I make mistakes too.  I have so many cookies, many old/leftover, and crumbling, but I use them anyway.  lol  I thought of making a flag.  I like that you have many stars (I can't count, I get disoriented - ? looking and counting...

Did you drop a plop of white icing and drag out points to make the stars?  (This is what I thought I'd have to do.)

Thanks for the clarification - was going to ask!

So I counted the stars out when I did them. 5 rows of 6 and 4 rows of 5 to make 50 stars. Next time I think I'd make icing transfers so they're all the same size. I just used thin icing and piped on the blue a general star shape and then used my scribe to pull out the points. I started with just dots on the marks where I wanted them so I could make sure I got my 50 in there, but again, I'd do this different next time so that it was more uniform.

I thought about not posting this since it didn't turn out like I wanted but I figured it's a good learning experience for me, and if other people are thinking about doing the flag in this way, they can look at mine and make adjustments to improve and make a better one. I had planned 14 cookies total- the blue and then the 13 stripes but when I started to assemble it prior to icing I made the choice to do the adjustments. Thankful I still got above 12 on it, but really not what I wanted.

It looks good to me. How big is it?

It's 15 1/2" x 17". Very large and hard to maneuver. I needed to used a denser dough too. The soft dough caused some cracks.
