I hope I did this right for the challenge

My version of a chicken parmesan dinner, only all sweet. The plate is also a cookie, with the silverware and napkin being fondant accents.  345612131418212425313335373940

The liquid would be the spaghetti sauce. The chicken and plate are the cookies.

I used royal icing, fondant, and sugar cookies. I also used wafer paper that I colored green to create the garnish.

I airbrushed and hand-painted the garlic bread and chicken parm. The breading is a mixture of graham cracker, vanilla wafer, and a little bit of chocolate cookie, with little bits of green royal that I dried and crunched up in a grinder.

I am most proud of the breading, I think. It was fun to create the different colors within the cookie dust.

What would I do differently? I would have made the fork a little longer in the tongs and I would have given myself more time for the plate to dry.

Thank you!

So darn realistic - SO well done! Congrats! Some questions: (1) So is the sauce made of royal icing glistened with piping gel, or something else? (2) How was the plate covered (fondant or royal icing), and how did you create the sheen on it? TIA.

Thank you very much! The sheen is piping gel mixed with a little water, and I used a paint brush to apply it onto the royal icing 'sauce', noodles, and royal icing 'melted cheese'.  The plate is covered in royal icing, sanded down in 3 different applications to give it an even coat. The bottom of the plate is fondant. I brushed it with watered- down piping gel before taking the picture.

There was a lot of learning in this process, but it was so much fun to create! Thank you for the additional questions. I took a bunch of in-progress photos for a tutorial sometime down the road

This totally looks like the real thing! ~ And now I want pasta. Beautiful job on the breading and sauce! Is that really a cookie?!

One of the things I talked about at the beginning of the challenge was how fun it would be to have people wondering why someone posted last night's dinner to the clip set. All I can say is, you nailed it! Not only with your "food" but also with the angle that it is photographed at.

I see all of the amazing step-by-step photographs that you have shared (thank you for that), and I will have to agree that the "breading" on your "Parmesan" is something to be proud of − although I might argue the the garlic toast is a close rival.

Your sauce cheese and pasta, and your napkin, plate and cutlery really help to make this so realistic looking.  Very impressive work!

wow- thank you so much for your feedback- I will be on a pink cloud for the rest of the day! Yeah, the garlic bread was pretty awesome when it came together. It was an after thought with the leftover piece of chicken cookie that I made, lol.
