For the challenge I worked with isomalt. Instead of just one cookie design I planned several different ones. Just in case something goes wrong, haha... let's blame bad experiences with isomalt so far.

My first test was ok, but when working on the cookies the isomalt have been sticky right aways. And I am sure it will ruin them quickly. Still don't know how to handle isomalt right (except from making it liquid and getting it into the right shape).

This is my fifth entry.
And the one that I originally had planned to do only.

Currently I am exploring the world of fairy gardens (as I want to have one in my garden as well) and while browsing miniature gardens and clay modells I just fell in love with all those creations. So it was pretty clear I had to do a little fountain.

Regarding the isomalt it was the less challenging one, only the part with the clay jug was a bit tricky. Either the isomalt was too liquid and didn't stick to it, or it was too thick and didn't touch the water surface.
Also the edges of the water are a little bended - guess it cooled down to quickly.

The cookie itself consist of the ground and the fountain's border. The clay jug is also a tiny little cookie, that was covered with royal icing.
Again all piped in white and painted afterwards - except for the leaves. The moss are colored cookie crumbles.

I have loved every last one of your five entries! I really appreciate how your isomalt skills improved from one project to the next, and I hope that you will continue to experiment with isomalt in your future projects!  This is what these challenges are all about! Spcific to this entry, I really love all the different stone colors and textures. And, tricky as it was to get the pouring water effect right, it did turn out perfectly in the end!

I am really not sure about isomalt. On the one hand I love the results you get with it, but on the other hand it's not something that makes cookies easy to eat. You know... people want cookies and not candy from me, haha.

But for projects like these or maybe competition entries it's a great medium to get nice effects with. So yeah... whenever there is a good reason I might go on working with it!

Creating stones with royal icing is fun. Did that a few times already and I love it.

In the end I can just thank you for this challenge as I faced my enemy isomalt. I might not be much wiser or more experienced yet, but it was really fun and something that I enjoyed to do. ♥
