Let Me Call You Sweetheart

This is originally inspired by Samantha @Aproned Artist . Your gorgeous heart tutorial so inspired me to create a layered look onto a heart cookie. Also, you used a royal icing transfer to create your gorgeous heart ❤️.

I'm also inspired by the incredible 3D artistry done by Julia @Julia M. Usher and her many tutorials!! Thank you Julia . Your work has taught me SO much over the past few years. I'm most appreciative of your hard work in creating the countless tutorials.

This was a fun and exciting project for me. The flower cookie is actually 2 cookies. I place dough into a mold, put it in the freezer so that it would be firm and then took it out of the mold and put it on top of the hexagon cookie before baking. After baking it I followed the lines of the flower mold to create the large rose on top of the cookie...too fun.

There is a separate cookie at the very back of the 3D construction that supports that 2 hearts as I was concerned about fragility. Of course I didn't take a picture of that cookie .

The RI heart transfer on the needlepoint came to mind after watching Samantha's tutorial @Aproned Artist!!

This was such a fun challenge. Thank you Christine for all your hard work in making these challenges fun as well as encouraging me to stretch my creative abilities into different areas. What I loved so much about this last challenge was that only 1 color could be used and the entire cookie surface had to be covered with RI. The effect really makes the design pop off the cookie, doesn't it?

Julia @Julia M. Usher has often shown ideas in tutorials using molds for baking dough into a variety of shapes. I thought it would be fun to try the technique with freezing dough in a mold and putting it onto a cookie prior to baking. I wasn't sure how well the mold design would hold up in the baking process but was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked, giving me the perfect shape to pipe petals around the additional cookie.
