I am learning so much from this site and finally had the gumption to participate and post something.  I loved watching Anthony Bourdain in his travels, so I really wanted to participate in this challenge.  I worked in gingerbread (the easel, basket holding French breads, and paint brush) and sugar cookie (cheese board, French breads, pallet and painting), and of course royal icing and fondant.  These can't compare to my fellow participants, but i had fun making them and love being part of this group.

So sorry to take so long to personally respond to this set (the other message from me was automated). First, I am thrilled you had the gumption to finally post - and what a post you did! It's just terrific! I'm especially impressed with the realistic mini-baguettes. Keep up the wonderful work - and please keep posting it here!

Welcome to Cookie Connection AND Practice Bakes Perfect @Sweet Doughsigns! What an amazing first entry and post this is!  I am so glad you were inspired by this challenge. I am floored by how many different techniques and materials you utilized in creating this set.  It absolutely evokes images of a summer afternoon picnic in Paris.  I am extra impressed that you made your own gingerbread easel, and your tiny baguettes are magnifique! This is an outstanding addition to the challenge. I hope we see you participate in many more!

Thank you so much!  Your commenting and compliments made my day!  I am going to begin posting and participating more.  This challenge gave me the boost to have more confidence in my skills and desire to learn more.

I had to throw it together just before leaving on vacation, so your compliments mean a lot.  I was happy with everything but the "painting".  I will be participating more as i am going to begin challenging myself more with new techniques, and I am gaining more confidence in my work wish to get feedback from fellow cookiers, as my friends and family like anything I do.  Thank you so much for commenting and posing this challenge.  It think Anthony would have gotten a kick out of it, especially with the magnificent posts that were made.
