This is such a very unique and interesting set of cookies. I am fascinated by your use of a cookie puzzle to create a single face. The result is mesmerizing. I would like to know how you got the melted candy into the eye sockets so that they are rounded and do not fill the whole socket. Do tell!...

Oh sure! First the spray is PME "Clear Edible Glaze Spray" and it keeps the sugar candy from getting foggy. I also noticed a very finished look to the cookie it's self when I used it on the hand painted RI part of another cookie. Very nice effect that also kept the painted bits bright. Second, about the eyes. I took two bubble shaped candies and placed them over a painted eye ball and then covered with fondant for the lids, and put RI over the entire "skin" portion and painted. The Nose, teeth and lips are also fondant, and the tongue is a bubble of candy painted red underneath.

This set was an experiment in candy, testing (again) to see if I could do what I had always wished to do, and that is to make glassy eyes. On the advice of a cookier here I purchased the spray that makes the candy stay shinny and used some of the batch I had made for the other two entries. Water, sugar and corn syrup boiled to 250+. Not perfectly executed, but I learned tons and that's what it was all about.

What spray did you use to make the eyes shiny?
