As with my two previous entries, my canvas was white fondant.

I bought these frame moulds a few weeks ago and I've been wanting to use them ever since, so I decided to replicate two of my favourite Van Gogh paintings ("Sunflowers" and "Starry Night". Also the most well-known) to go in them. Mind you, that was easier said than done, as the area within the frame is only 2.3 cm x 3 cm, so that was the size of the fondant pieces I had to paint on (I painted them separately, then added them to the main cookie and placed the frame around them).

These are lovely little masterpieces! The miniature paintings are really terrific and I like how you have the paintbrushes in the photo so we can an idea of how small they really are! The frame molds perfectly compliment the art. The only thing I might have done differently is use a straight-edge square or some other plaque for the base cookie and then painted that to make the frame look layered. Whereas the frame compliments the artwork, the white scalloped base layer seems to be competing with the frame and art, if that makes sense. Finally, I have a question - what paint did you use for the gold frames? I am always on the look-out for a good, edible gold!
