What fun this walk down vintage lane has been! I loved the "Old look" of many floral designs I saw and tried to mimic the art used by artists long ago, both in the lovely pastels and in the shape of flowers and butterfly's. It almost seems as if the flowers and the insects have evolved and previously lovely form has changed.

Each cookie was prepared with a light wash of color and antiqued with a brown edge to age.

I used rice paper to water color on in order to get the "old art" look I wanted and then trimmed and colored the edges before adhering with RI to the cookie.

I studied old lettering and created a cohesive design using the words "peace, hope, love and joy" using a fine liner brush.

To add another element, I used fondant and candy pieces to create leaves and flowers and berries, as well as an altered mold for a golden embossed stamp. On the "love" cookie. The leaves were also "gold leafed" to make a vintage appearance.

Lastly I went back over each cookie and added fine line detail, to elegantly fill with a vintage feel.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them! I must say, I have many new skills obtained by trial and error and experimenting with this set that will last always! Thanks for the great chance to grow, Christine and Julia!
