If you want a change from sugar cookies, I found a chocolate cookie recipe that is delicious, the dough is easy to work with, and the cookies don't spread at all. I am sorry to say I did not note the source, so would love to know if anyone recognizes the recipe so I can give credit. I also use @Sweetambs Orange Vanilla Spice Cookie, which everyone loves. Neither recipe is too, too sweet, so goes well with all the royal icing!
