Say Hello to Our September 2021 Site Artist!

I've been looking for an excuse to feature these incredibly clever and brilliantly executed corncob cookies by @PUDING FARM for a while now. So I was super excited when Timea officially submitted them for our site banner and backdrop. She uploaded them back in November 2020, so they've been in the hopper for almost a year, just waiting for autumn harvest time to roll around again. Well, it's finally here (or at least fast approaching in my neck of the woods), and I can now exuberantly release this stellar site art. Thank you, Timea, for the wonderful contribution! (You can see Timea's original post of this work here.)

As always, I like to feature my site artists as a way of thanking them for their contributions, and, since PUDING FARM is a serial site contributor, I've already done an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview with her - yay! Please check it out, along with her brief bio and social media links below.

And, as a reminder, stay tuned for the Cookier Close-up with our August site artist, @Zeena. I haven't forgotten it! Once my schedule clears a bit in mid-September, I'll start the interview process, with an aim to post more about Zeena in October!

Now, back to PUDING FARM . . . Congrats again on this wonderful and oh-so-fall contribution!

GGT_headshot CROPPEDTimea Gazdagné Görbe is the owner of PUDING FARM. She first became interested in crafts in her early childhood, and, as she grew to adulthood, she tried her hand at a wide range of art disciplines. As a young child, she was a pupil of the Hungarian State Ballet Institute in Budapest; she also acted and did voiceovers for Hungarian television. Later on, Timea tried tasks requiring greater manual dexterity, such as freehand graphics, portrait drawing, leather craftsmanship, jewelry making, and even Native American plaiting and woodcarving. While working in a graphics studio, she participated in several graphic exhibitions and won national and international prizes for her work.

Since 2006, gingerbread baking and decorating have become Timea’s main hobbies. Early on, she decorated her delicious gingerbread with monochrome royal icing and extraordinary precision, solely for the delight of her family and friends. But, recently, she has explored more colorful and elaborate works, plunging headfirst into the world of pastry art. Because she likes challenges, and because it’s the tiny details that inspire her most, Timea has focused on recreating snapshots of nature in 3-D using royal icing. It’s not easy to make shapes with this icing because it is so fragile, but Timea has nevertheless managed to capture the delicacy and realism of nature in her work. Her love for this hobby led her to earn a confectioner's degree in 2018 with excellent results.

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through January 2022, so I am specifically looking for art for February 2022 and beyond. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
