Step-by-step tutorials for painting scenery?

Hi everyone -

I am a total amateur and I'm just in awe of the painted cookies I keep seeing on here. I'm not getting any of my needed house cleaning done because I've been on here for hours stalking all the gorgeous cookies and creative cookies artists!  When I grow up I want to be just like all of you.

I'm wondering if some of you would be willing to post some tutorials - step-by-steps (and especially videos) if you will - on painting? I would love to see how to do a few scenery cookies from start to finish, including how to, and how much to, dilute the gel colors, shading and highlighting on the cookie, etc.

I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination and it's so hard for me to understand where to begin to make the scenery look real. I think that's the hardest part for me to grasp - the secrets to making it look like you're actually inside that scene.

Is there anyone else who would be interested in this or am I the only one? I'm interested to find out.

Blogging about the ups and downs of learning to decorate cookies keeps it real. The day I stop having fun decorating I will hang up my apron but I don't see that happening for a very long time. I'm on a never ending journey to learn from others more skilled than I am.
