I kind of have a follow up question to this.. You may have some answers because this was an older post. I would like to create cookies either as gifts for coworkers and teachers.. Do you have a certain size box or bag you frequently use to package and arrange cookies.. It could be either 2 larger cookies with some crinkle paper, or like a small arrangement...  Maybe an answer is to plan out some cookies then buy boxes.. But I'm not sure where to buy them or for cookies what is a 'common' size...

I would suggest you do it the other way round: get a box and design the cookies to fit in the box. Base the first choice of box size on cutters you know you will use, but work around the box from there on. E.g. if you will be putting in a Christmas tree, it is a pain to find out that the cookie will just not fit in a box and you have to use a bigger box but then the box looks half empty and you have to fill it up with cookies you hadn't budgeted for in the price you communicated to prospective clients. It happened to me when I made the biscuits, photographed them without any wrapping/boxing and put a price on them. When it came to boxing them to deliver, it was an unpleasant surprise.
