The white and pink flowers As well as leaves are made out of gumpaste, the purple one is hand painted wafer paper, all resting on a big round cookie. It’s a cake topper for a special friend. 💕

Oh how beautiful and fun Heather @Heather Bruce Sosa! Love the gorgeous flowers...it looks like you are really enjoying making all of these beautiful flowers . I'm starting to work on a Challenge #41 cookie as well. Yippee! I usually don't have the time to participate but am able to do so this time...super excited as I'm working away on something totally foreign to me, but fun!! Take care my dear friend ❤️.

BTW, did you like working with gumpaste rather than fondant or wafer paper? Just curious. I know that gumpaste dries super hard and holds its shape really well. I've been debating using just gumpaste or a combo of gumpaste, modeling chocolate and fondant. I've used this combo before with good success (drying fairly hard but not rock hard). We'll see....

Beautiful! This is such a wonderful collection of flowers.  And the detail work on the cookie itself absolutely lovely! You did an amazing job with the purple flower and the hand painting.  It has perfect saturation with just the right amount of curve.  You have the magic touch!!❤️😘

Thank you very much, dear Carol! Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed it! To be sincere, it has helped me so much during this time. I was mentioning to Gabi @Icingsugarkeks that our lockdown is still active and will continue until the 17th, which means 150 days!!!
I deeply appreciate your words, dear friend, you are always so sweet.

Its the first time I try this technique and have never used fondant, mainly because I don’t like the taste of the brand here🤷‍♀️, but I would love yo try the modeling chocolate sometime soon. But I loved wafer paper, it’s more work as you have to work on each piece individually, but very exciting to see how it develops.

I can’t wait to see your work of art!!🥰

Oh Lisa, this is so kind and uplifting! The purple flower is a last minute, out-of-the-sleeve resolution!! I originally presented the cookie without it, not noticing I had only included one technique 🤦‍♀️
The purple flower was made some weeks ago for a birthday cake, but didn’t seem to fit in nicely with the rest of the flowers I had made, so it went bank into the tupper where I kept the left overs. And finally, saved the presentation!

Thank you, once again, dear Lisa♥️

Such a clever idea to create a cookie cake topper. The flowers look so delicate, and the petals are beautifully shaped. I also love the color combination.

Thank you very much, dear Christine. I deeply appreciate it.🥰

I, too, enjoy working with wafer paper but it's so easy to get it too wet and then you basically have to start all over again. I've used the Fabriliquid which is made for using with wafer paper and it does help with controlling the degree of wetness on the rice paper. I have a lot of embossers for wafer paper but you have to continually go over the paper with the embosser in order to see the design. It's almost not even worth using. I pretty much felt like it was a waste of money. But it wasn't expensive and it was worth trying.

Our quarantine is ongoing and I'm SO tired of it!!! I've been ready to return to some semblance of normal for a long time already. Our governor has not given us a prediction as to how much longer things will stay like this. I'm sure hoping to get back to a more normal way of day-to-day living as soon as possible though.

Take care and stay safe and well my dear friend @Heather Bruce Sosa. Hugs...❤️❤️

I’ll have to find out what an embossed is!! What I use as glue, and learned from an amazing Indian gentleman on YouTube, is a mixture of water with the little cuttings from petals. You place them in a little jar with top and after a day they make an amazing glue! You still have to be careful with the amount, but it’s great!!

Yes, we are all praying this “fase” for the world will end sooner than later. It’s incredible how it’s turned so many things upside down.
Take care my dear friend. God bless you. Hope to see and meet you on the chat next Saturday!!!!!♥️

Interesting about making edible "glue" with water and cuttings from petals. Uh, I wouldn't think something like that would work. I made some edible glue yesterday from water and CMC (Tylose) powder. When I pulled it out of the fridge this morning it was the perfect consistency  and color. It was lumpy with the CMC not totally dissolving in the warm water after an hour or so. The ratio was 8T water to 1t CMC powder. Heat up the water in a microwave so that it's warm, add the CMC powder and mix as best as you can. Let it sit for 30 minutes, add 2 drops of lemon juice to increase the shelf life to 2 months. Cover it tightly and put it in the fridge overnight. That's all there is to it. Easy peasy. Yes, I'm looking forward to our next ZOOM this weekend . I'm sure there will be many more people who participate. Can't wait to "meet" you as well!  Take care my dear ❤️

Awww, thank you so much dear Petra! Originally the purple flower wasn’t supposed to be there but I had only presented two types of mediums, so at the last time I included it. And I liked it even more! I appreciate your lovely comment, thank you again and I’m so glad you are back!♥️
