Challenge 20 – Cookie Redux – In truth, I have a TON of cookies for which I would like a redo.  For this challenge, however, I decided to pick a cookie from a couple years back.

It was one of the first batches of cookies I made for the food pantry (I think it was like the third or fourth).  I was making 150 weekly and hadn’t really figured out a schedule yet.  Anytime I stumble across a photo of this cookie it makes me cringe.  The airbrushing is a mess, the swirl roses are barely defined and I do not know what I was doing with the purple flowers.  However, I was thrilled with it at the time.  I posted it to this site and everyone was so lovely.  Looking back, that support and encouragement was exactly what I needed.  I am so grateful to everyone.

For the redux, I opted for a much cleaner approach.  These are a couple of stencils from Julia though I’m not sure if they are from the same set.  As I have mentioned in some other challenges, I am becoming more confident with the airbrush and am starting to enjoy experimenting. (Previously, I was just too terrified!)

This challenge called for five cookies, which I did make.  My husband ate one before I took the photo.  Despite my rather dramatic melt down, there was absolutely no remorse on his part. None. So there you have it.

You’ve come such a long way, girl! Beautiful and so dainty. You are giving us all such a lesson on perseverance and discipline! Thank you so much dear Lisa!

You made me laugh with the episode of “the missing cookie”😧😩😂

This is one of my favorite challenges since it provides a great opportunity for cookiers to see how much they've learned and grown over the years, which is such a positive thing. The different in your past and present work is dramatic, and you should be proud of your accomplishments.

LOL (on the missing cookie)! I can see your confidence (and skill) level increasing with each stenciled set. Nice use of multiple colors (in the same stencil) on this one!

Thank you so much Heather.  About my husband, he is definitely a handful that one!😂❤️

Thank you for your kindness Christine.  I can really see the difference and it does make me proud.  These challenges have been such a wonderful way to practice and try new things.  I thank you immensely for the opportunity.

Thank you Julia.  The light touch on the trigger is the hardest part.  I didn't know my natural pull was so aggressive! 😂
