Here just a short clip on how to do the paper quilling effect with royal icing using a turntable... short, because I think my longer version on facebook bored people to tears .
It's being done as transfers for accuracy reasons. The reinforcement with flood consistency icing after the first round (or second for larger designs) is necessary where the lines don't connect to prevent breakage, when moving the transfer onto a cookie or cake.
OMG!!!!! Dear Sophie, hard to believe that this is royal icing!!! But I know your other wonderful works !! .... it's Royal icing !! Simply fantastic!! @iSugarfy (aka swissophie)

I never thought I could consider a spider "beautiful" ... yours is beyond that. It's wonderful to see you once again my dear friend ❤❤❤
Wow, this is amazing. You must have the perfect balance. How you use your both hands in the same time in perfect synchrony 😯💗💓💖 I am happy I saw you in action 😊
Such a wonderful video. Every once in a while, I will pipe rows of lines on top of one another. I never thought about taking it further...but now I have.

Thank you so very much for your beautiful comment, dear Carol 😘 🌹💖! It does take some practice too use a turntable and only one hand for piping, but it's a whole lot faster like this as the focus stays the same. So happy you like the spider 😊! Thanks again, my sweet friend!

It's just practice, dear Zara. It's much easier and faster using a turntable this way. Thank you so much ❤️ ❤️ ❤️!

Thanks so much, dear Christine 😘 🌹 ❣️ I look forward to seeing where you will take this 😀!
Hi Sonja, @iSugarfy (aka swissophie) Thank you for the template. I have practiced a couple of times. Very difficult for me, especially the body of spider. I am not good at piping roundly... I thought because of my turntable that moves not smoothly. I tried this way and that way. It really needs tons of practice to make the spider beautifully like you who have great skills.
