Heads-up! Another major cable network (I'm told it's Food Network) is now casting for a holiday cookie special.

Most of the information you need for applying is in the poster below. Here is some additional information that just came to me via their casting agent:

"We are open to amateurs and professionals but we want to make sure that the bakers can design AND be versatile in their cookie baking. We will have mostly design-driven challenges; however the taste quality of the cookies is very important as well. So what I'm saying is we need more than just bakers who can make sugar cookies and decorate them."

"We do have a quick turnaround for this show so I would love to get submissions within the next three weeks. The sooner people get their stuff in the better!"

We do. It may be restricted to people in the US, though I am not sure. People should inquire before they submit applications, though this first application is short. I imagine if you make it past the first screen, there will be a much longer application to follow.

No, as noted in the post above, I do not know the submission deadline. I first received this casting call a week ago, and then again today from two sources. From my experience, they move pretty fast so I would get it in ASAP if you want to participate.

** UPDATE FOR ALL, AND ESPECIALLY KARLA! **

Wish I had the confidence to try something like this! LOVE cookies of all kinds! But I'd be a nervous wreck. It's definitely a show I'd watch, though with some misgivings. Food Network has had a tendency in the past to sabotage their contestants, and I haven't watched for quite some time because of it.

Yes, so much talent here.  It would be very nice if someone or more from here submitted an application and selected.

Smiling at Poppy!

I don't have the confidence either.  I'd love to be good enough to be recognized though.

Thanks for bringing this to us Julia!

Just to clarify: it's not solely a decorated cookie competition; a broader array of cookies is involved, and baking skills (flavor) will be highly important as well.
