Hi y'all!  I'm new here and a bit overwhelmed, but am completely amazed at all of the sea and wealth of information I have seen so far! Thanks for letting me join!

My name is Tammy, and I currently live in Arizona. I just recently married the love of my life,  after being together for 6 years it was time! We have four furbabies!

My husband just recently gifted me with an early birthday present, a Kitchenaid!
I had been talking for the past 4 or 5 months about wanting to try my hand at sugar cookie making and decorating, and he was apparently listening! lol

I'm very new to all of this, as a matter of fact, just going this weekend to buy some supplies to get started and see where it takes me!

I look forward to getting to know you all, and am excited to be a part of such a large and helpful community!

Again, thanks for having me!

Let the baking fun begin!

Hi again, @Tamlei. It's me in person this time (the first post above was automated). What a lovely intro! We are so happy to have you here - I always love to hear about cookie converts, and I am sure you will find members here quite helpful, so never hesitate to ask questions! Oh, and lucky you! Your husband sounds like a real keeper! I always cross my fingers that mine will remember my birthday. Getting a relevant gift is almost unheard of here!

Welcome!  There are many resources available to you and never be afraid to ask questions.  We’ve all been there and there is a wealth of information from the members.  Don’t forget to show us your first cookies!

julia I have a wonderful husband, but after 28 years I rarely get gifts and am pleasantly surprised when he remembers my birthday.

Hi Julia, thank you so much for the warm welcome! I'm still just reading through the different areas here and finding out so much information! I was quite amazed at how intricate some of the details of cookie making can be! For example, the article provided about flour in the Toolbox Talk by the very knowledgeable Liesbet, just completely blew me away with how different flours can actually be and how they measure out differently. Thanks so much for sharing your advice and research with us Liesbet! I'm so intrigued, I stayed up half the night just reading!

And yeah, I might be a bit partial, but I'm very blessed with the love of a great man! I am sure your husband is a great man too, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too, may your birthday be a pleasant surprise!

Hi Econlady,

Thanks for the welcome! I will definitely keep your offer in mind about questions and I sure will share a picture of the first cookies I bake! Here's to hoping they turn out to be recognizable!

Let me offer some friendly advice.  Decorating cookies involves practice and finding your style.  No matter what I do I will never make Cooke’s like Julia or any of the other amazing decorators.  I instead studied lots of techniques and then followed my heart and love what I make and try to not compare myself to others.  Find the joy of decorating and live there.  Best of luck.

Oh, yes, @Liesbet's posts are great! The next one will be about different types of sugar in cookies. Anyway, I'm thrilled to hear you're already deep into the site. Have fun, and I'll "see" you around, I'm sure!

Hi, @Tamlei, welcome! I read your reply to Julia and I could easily relate!😊 It reminded me two years ago when I found Cookie Connection and I spent days and nights catching up and reading everything! And I still do, as fellow cookiers have shared a lot here! Hope to see your cookies posted here soon!

Ridiculous bureaucracy and waste of manpower.

What a lovely and warm introduction message. I am new to the cookie decorating world myself and am enjoying every bit of it. I seen your message and wanted to say Hi. I look forward to seeing where it takes you. Enjoy your journey.
