Finally! At long last, Missouri has jumped fully into fall, all in the 11 few days that I was in Japan. My green trees suddenly have tinges of red and orange on them, and all of the seed pods in my garden are now definitively VERY brown.

I chose this month's site artist (Timea Gazdagné Görbe, aka @PUDING FARM) not only because her work very much conveys the state of my fall yard , but also because poppies are the symbol of "remembrance". Later this month, we have one of our biggest days of remembrance here in the US - that being Veteran's Day, when we honor our valiant armed forces who courageously risked life and limb serving our country. Of course, Timea's work is simply striking besides, which is all the more reason to declare her our November site artist! Congrats, Timea, on your gorgeous submission!

To learn more about Timea, please read on! (I'll be doing an in-depth Cookier Close-up with Timea too, but it may not post until December or January, as I have a few others - with the remaining CookieCon 2018 instructors - in the queue first.)

GGT_headshot CROPPEDTimea Gazdagné Görbe is the owner of PUDING FARM. She first became interested in crafts in her early childhood, and, as she grew to adulthood, she tried her hand at a wide range of art disciplines. As a young child, she was a pupil of the Hungarian State Ballet Institute in Budapest; she also acted and did voiceovers for Hungarian television. Later on, Timea tried tasks requiring greater manual dexterity, such as freehand graphics, portrait drawing, leather craftsmanship, jewelry making, and even Native American plaiting and woodcarving. While working in a graphics studio, she participated in several graphic exhibitions and won national and international prizes for her work.

Since 2006, gingerbread baking and decorating have become Timea’s main hobbies. Early on, she decorated her delicious gingerbread with monochrome royal icing and extraordinary precision, solely for the delight of her family and friends. But, recently, she has explored more colorful and elaborate works, plunging headfirst into the world of pastry art. Because she likes challenges, and because it’s the tiny details that inspire her most, Timea has focused on recreating snapshots of nature in 3-D using royal icing. It’s not easy to make shapes with this icing because it is so fragile, but Timea has nevertheless managed to capture the delicacy and realism of nature in her work. Her love for this hobby led her to earn a confectioner's degree in 2018 with excellent results.

Congrats again, Timea!

And, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post (like this one) and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing!

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!
