Our October site artist is none other than the incredibly talented @Teri Pringle Wood, whose nickname ("Queen of Hearts") was earned because of the many hundreds of heart cookies she's posted to Cookie Connection since joining in February 2014. And that's not her only site moniker. She was also one of the first members to achieve the coveted status of "Cookie Queen" for having amassed over 100,000 activity points on the site. Her other cookie recognitions and awards are more than I can count, but are enumerated (at least in part) in her bio below.

Thanks to Teri for contributing these stunning fall leaves to the site back in November 2019. Our Site Art Stylist @Icingsugarkeks, aka Gabi, was naturally drawn to them when searching for suitable autumn site art, and so here they are, additionally jazzed up in the banner with sparkles à la Gabi:

Thanks also to Gabi for the work she does to transform members' posts into the formats needed for our site art. She always does so with flair by adding her own special touch.

You probably know my drill by now, which is I like to feature our monthly site artists here, in forum post like this one, and also in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. I was really looking forward to catching up with Teri, as it's been a while since we've featured her lovely work on the site (January 2021, to be exact). I understand that she's now applying her creative talents primarily to painting (on paper, not cookies), but, as one art form influences another, I was particularly eager to hear about how Teri made this transition - no doubt smoothly and skillfully. Alas, I was unable to connect with Teri prior to writing this post, so I am republishing her bio from her last feature in 2021 as a means of introduction for those of you who don't know her. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Teri will be free to update her bio and do that Cookier Close-up we were unable to do back in 2021. If so, you all will be the first to know.

Headshot - TeriCROPPEDTeri Pringle Wood is inarguably one of the most productive cookie decorators around, every day endeavoring to make one or more cookie creations. Teri consistently wows the cookie community with her expert piping and painting skills. As one judge in the Cookie Connection Cookiers' Choice Awards so aptly put it: "Teri is a prolific artist of an astounding portfolio of cookies characterized by true artistry . . . [she uses] a variety of techniques to produce consistently impeccable results! Perfection is the hallmark of her work!" In her many years of cookie decorating, Teri has been a winner of King Arthur's cookie decorating contest, a multi-year finalist for Cookie Connection's Cookie Artist of the Year Award, and a Cake Masters Magazine Awards finalist. She has also been featured in several international and local publications, and is a member of the Katy Sue Designs design team and the in-house "cookie decorating doctor" on the Facebook blog called Cake Doctor. But Teri's greatest reward is, in her words, "to hear every day of the joy my cookie posts bring to followers who are ill or suffering . . . [and] I love seeing posts from other cookiers who have been inspired by my creations." While hearts are clearly Teri's passion, just ask her if she's decorated any shape (yes, you name it!), and chances are very good she has!

To learn more about Teri, please check out her Cookie Connection portfolio, and Instagram and Facebook pages.

Again, congrats to Teri!

Last but not least, for those of you who are wondering how to get featured, it's easy! Simply read these posts here and here. Remember: Site artists not only get their work featured prominently for a full month, but they also get profiled in a forum post and in an in-depth Cookier Close-up interview. All considered, it's a lot of great free PR in exchange for photo sharing! When preparing your site art, please bear in mind that I already have artwork through January 2023, so I am specifically looking for art for February 2023 and beyond. Please also remember that @Icingsugarkeks, our Site Art Stylist, is available to help you get your photos in the right format, so do not hesitate to contact her if you need assistance! You can send her a PM right here on Cookie Connection by clicking on her name (in pink) above.

Thanks in advance for considering a contribution to the site!

Thank you so much Julia and Gaby for featuring my Fall cookies this month. I love the way Gaby made them sparkle.  I haven't decorated any cookies since the beginning of Covid. I do post old cookie photos from time to time on my FB and Instagram  pages because they still make people happy😊

My cookie journey was surprisingly amazing and Cookie Connection was a huge part of that journey. I do miss it all but time to simplify  my life. HaPpY decorating to all❤

Thank you Teri! I think your multitude of incredibly adorable decorated cookies just deserve a sparkle!! (...and yes, Julia, that's right! That's my very personal way! You know me very well!) @Teri Pringle Wood    @Julia M. Usher

Oh yes Teri we miss you sooo much!!!
I sincerely wish you to find yourself again!!! Trust in yourself, in your great skills and in your many beautiful plants that watch over you and each one of them will surely remind you of a beautiful story... I hug you from the bottom of my heart 1000 times dear Teri!!

I must add my own message ❤️. Teri, your incredible detailed work has been such an inspiration on my initial entry into the world of cookie decorating.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart @Teri Pringle Wood!!!

I have no doubt that you have inspired many, many people with the beauty of your work. Your heart cookies always blew me away with their intricacy and design . The lacy borders add a classy touch that separated your work so much that I could immediately identify your cookies without even looking at your name!!  Be well my dear ❤️❤️❤️.
