Deana - Thanks, though I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. The stuff threaded through the big (1/4-inch) holes on the side of each basket is real ribbon. The brown dots on the side are royal icing, and the tassel at the bottom is made from frosting sheets. Are you talking about turning the brown dots into ribbon, or something else?

I see the thread on the top for hanging and the thread on the bottom. I am referring to where I guess you would say where you put the sided together.  I am thinking it is the "shell" frosting work that goes down the center where the 2 cookies meet. Hope that made sense.

Hmmm . . . they are actually iced together at those corners, and then I cover the seams with a shell border (the brown with a bit of gold luster dust on it, as shown here). I suppose you could thread the sides completely together, but you'd need a series of holes on either side of each seam, which I think would end up occupying too much space on the face of each cookie panel, not leaving that much room left to decorate. I like to cut holes in at least 1/4 inch from the edge of the cookie so I can ice around them. If you don't, the ribbon will quickly break through any uniced cookie. Am I making any sense?

Yes, you are making perfect sense.  I am brand new to the cookie decorating and just love learning new things and looking at what someone did and thinking what can I do to make it different.  I think it is the Quilter in me, ha ha.  But yes I see what you mean about it being to much to put the ribbon there.  And I will have to remember how big to do the hole's when I can get a chance to do mine.  I just happened to watch you video last night on Wafer Paper Roses. 

The video for this project should post on Sunday if I can get it edited in time. It's a bit long, but it shows exactly how I put it together.

I will be looking forward to it. Thanks for the tips I appreciate it.
