Wow, what a fun day on the river! I instantly saw a trout jumping out of the water when I read PBP challange #37 (in my head). Although I had no idea how I would accomplish the mental image, I knew I wanted to try fondant and stay away from the color blue. Not that water is never blue, but a trout stream is not. Green, grey, shadows, glistening high lights off the water and silver glistening off the grey yet magically rainbow speckled trout. This was such a treat! Thanks for the wonderful challange!

I really, really like this! Using so many layers of rippling fondant for your water was brilliant. This is really like a sculpture with that fish popping out and up from the stream. And the way this was painted adds to the dimensionality. What a great addition to the challenge, Kim!

This one is amazing, Kim. I can see movement and the current, and the rocks are a perfect touch for added realism.

Awe, thank you! My husband and I fly fish, so this little trout was really close to my heart. I'm glad you like it.

Thank you so much, Christine! My husband and I fly fish so the image was one of the first things to pop into my head. I’m so glad you like it!
